Terms and Conditions
This page (together with the documents referred to on it) outlines the terms and conditions on which we agree to provide the service(s) offered through our website, emuink.ie, to you.
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before ordering any services from our site/company. By ordering any of our services you are agreeing, and are signifying your agreement, to be bound by these terms and conditions.
If you refuse to accept these terms and conditions, you should not order any services from our site/company.
- The €500 for a 50-book minimum order on anthologies – which releases access to the online programme – is non-refundable, as are all deposits for all of our products and services.
- The copyright is that of each individual author/the school.
- We reserve the right to use any of the books that we produce, as samples at events including conferences, expos, trade and book fairs as well as to post out to any potential customers.
- The method by which we provide a proof copy of your book is via digital flipbook. This technology is for proof sign-off purposes only and is the property of Emu Courses Ltd. We do not provide digital copies of your book, in any format, for distribution this includes e-books of any kind.
- Access to your proof copy should not be shared and will expire on approval for print. These files/images may not be copied/replicated for any other use.
- The purpose of the proof copy (digital and or printed – in the case of A4s) is for you to review the content and general aesthetics. Once approved (including approval pending any requested changes) any issues thereafter with the content of the printed copy are not the responsibility of Emu Courses Ltd.
- We reserve the right to overrule on final copy and artwork.
- We reserve the right not to publish in the case of a particular story/stories/title/full manuscript if we deem it to be inappropriate/offensive.
- We reserve the right to refuse advertising within any of our books, that is deemed to be in direct competition with what Emu Ink, as a company, does/offers.
- The responsibility for the content lies with the school/customer.
- Our standard title page verso will appear in every book.
- Our logo and branding will appear on every book.
- Unless specifically requested by the school to the contrary – we will use authorised photos from school book launches in our promotional material, in press releases and in marketing campaigns.
- Where we have permission we will use photos from school book launches across our social media channels.
- We reserve the right to feature extracts from the books on our website.
- We reserve the right to feature artwork from the books on our website.
- Print is subject to approval from each school and all payments are final.
- All print-runs are non-refundable.
- Final book orders must be paid for, a minimum of three weeks, before the book is sent to print.
- Books will not be delivered before final invoices are paid.
- Failure to meet agreed submission and/or payment deadlines may result in your books not being delivered on time.
- All additional orders are subject to minimum order requirements.
- Our four-week turnaround on book production is an estimate – we reserve the right to reasonably reduce or extend this period of time but we will always notify customers either way.
- Each anthology is subject to a maximum amount of participants – 120 primary school pupils with one story/poem/piece of writing permitted per child. Schools must produce more than one book at a time if participating pupils go over this number.
- Maximum participant numbers will differ for post-primary schools and should be discussed with an Emu Ink client manager before starting the project.
- Book content and artwork cannot be reproduced/printed as a copy of the publication done through the programme/produced by Emu Ink/Courses.
- Schools/customers do not have the right to reproduce the books under the Emu Ink brand.
- Access to our free online resources are subject to minimum order requirements being met and are only available for the duration of the agreed project timeline. Access will not be granted after books have been published, whether the resources were used for the book publishing project at the time, or not.
- Emu Courses has a proud partnership with Starbucks Ireland. As part of this this all newly-published authors will receive two very special bookmarks which entitle them to free hot chocolate and a coffee for accompanying parents/guardians as well as a €10 off voucher for Leisureplex.
- The Starbucks logo features on the title page verso of all of our anthology publications for primary schools, as part of this alliance.
- All files including design, paperback and digital proof are the property of Emu Courses Ltd. Schools/customers do not have any right to these files.
